Black Mountain, NC is my home. I was born in Davenport, IA, received a BA in Economics from Macalester College in St. Paul, MN and a Masters in Experiential Education from MS (Experiential Education) Minnesota State Univ. Mankato, MN.

Venture Program Director at UNC-Charlotte; 1977-1983.
Associate Director at Eagles Nest Camp, Pisgah Forest NC; 1983-1985.
Development Director at NC Outward Bound School; 1985-1989.
Executive Director at Camp Joy, Clarksville OH; 1990-2001.
Outdoor Program Director at Biltmore Estate, Asheville NC; 2002-2010.

To help in providing a stable, positive, nurturing environment in which our staff and guests can be their best in living their lives to their greatest potential.
About your family:
My wife of 28 years is Ann Lutz. Our son, Jordan, is a student at UNC Chapel Hill.
What do you find most important in life?
Lifelong learning, health and wellness, to feel like I am making a difference in people's lives and building a saner, safer and more peaceful world. One of my favorite sayings is... "Don't postpone joy."
