Since its founding in 1978, The Mountain has depended on Members and Donors for support. It was the Charter Members who made The Mountain possible, and the Life Members who ensured its continuance. While we no longer offer new Life Memberships, we will always honor the membership of Charter and Life Members. We thank those who have continued to be generous over the years with their ongoing support and encourage Charter and Life Members to give annually as you are able to do so.
Why membership? By becoming an Annual Member or Donor, you are saying to The Mountain’s larger community that you believe in the The Mountain and want it to continue to be here for people of all ages. Every year The Mountain is making a difference in the lives of youth and adults, and every year we need your financial support to carry on this work.
As an existing Life Member or Annual Member you will receive periodic updates through Our Members Matter publication. You will also be invited to participate in annual elections of Mountain Trustees in advance of the Annual Meeting in May and in votes taken at the Annual Meeting on actions such as recommended bylaw changes. Unless you wish otherwise, you will also be acknowledged in our Annual Report. Your Annual Membership begins the day we receive your donation and runs for a full year. In accordance with our bylaws, thirty days prior to the Annual Meeting, the Board of Trustees will send a meeting notice and trustee election ballot to all current members. All ballots received by ten days prior to the meeting will be counted.
We invite you to become an Annual Member or Donor by making a gift to The Mountain now, affirming your support of and commitment to this special organization.
Your membership or donation may be taken over the telephone, on line, or through the mail by check. The Mountain is a 501c3 organization, and your gifts are tax deductable in accordance with your tax situation. We will gladly set up recurring credit card or checking account deductions for your convenience.

We encourage all those who are able to consider annual giving at a level beyond what is required for membership. Annual Giving levels are named after recognizable markers along The Mountain road from base to summit.
